James Klam believes it's important to make one's self aware of artists who have heretofore been excluded from mainstream consideration.  Edith Schloss is a prime example of an artist in this category.  Beginning with her studies at the Art Students League in the early 1940s, Schloss found herself in the center of what would become known as the "New York School."
