Artist Estate Studio, LLC, seeks a part time research assistant to support the activities of our busy office.
Artist Estate Studio, LLC, is a leading agency servicing the studios of artists and the estates of artists in the management, cataloguing, and promotion and preservation of their art and the stewardship of their legacies.
Research assistant will work closely with senior team in the organizing, processing, and filing of materials related to the life and work of our artist and estate clients. Responsibilities include: providing scans of images and documents as needed using appropriate digital and metadata standards; tracking, locating and updating artwork databases to ensure accurate and up-to-date inventories and reconciliation of archives and records, including spot check inventories; assist with maintaining artist webpages.
Education and Experience Requirements: degree or experience in related field. Formal training in archives management and preservation, desirable.
Abilities, Skills, and Knowledge: Ability to maintain confidentiality in all professional matters; demonstrated ability to communicate orally and in writing; good organizational skills and attention to detail; keen knowledge of Photoshop, Microsoft office suite; familiarity with database management; ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
This is a part-time position which could be short- or long-term. Work hours are flexible and work locations will vary depending on the project. The main office is in Brooklyn.
